A Soldiers Funeral

A little over a week ago I had the honor to cover the funeral for Spc. Clayton McGarrah, in Harrison Arkansas.
20 year old McGarrah was killed on July 4th while serving in Afghanistan, just about three weeks after arriving and nearly 2 months after marrying his wife Emily.

The stories written by Greg Barns can be found here.

Hi, I saw these in the paper and so stopped by to say very nice photos and beautiful coverage of this young man's funeral.

Btw, I don't know if you'll remember, but my husband and I met you at the downtown Dicken's Holiday. It was at the end of the ceremony, you were snapping photos on the top floor of the Market House. We both teach religion at Methodist University.

Lynda,
Thank you for the comments. It was an amazing experience to be apart of.
You must have me mistaken with another photographer here at the paper. I just started at the Observer at the beginning of June.
I am sure that we will run into one another at some point in time.

Sorry, the photographer I met did look a bit like you ... but alas, I didn't get his name :-(

I checked out your online portfolio, and I loved this photo:
